This is another old favorite of mine that I thought could use an overhaul.  It's a complete rebuild/relight/retexture of the classic DM: The Court.  It's an arena style map that centers around a basketball court.  The biggest challenge in this map was getting some good detail in it yet somehow keep the r_speeds under control.  Well I got the detail part and the best I could do on the r_speeds was to add several area portals separating the outside areas that I added.  The biggest impact on the r_speed reduction is attributed to my fellow fragger/mapper, DreaD.  He was very resourceful in figuring out how to reduce the r_speeds by consolodating a lot of the brushes, modifying  some textures (for further brush consolidation), some tweaks here and there and has really made a tremendous difference to the tune of 35% lower overall.  They still run a tad high in a few select areas but still playable with today's machines and far lower than they did before.  The map is much more playable now.
