This is actually the old readme file which has been updated with some tid-bits.  Goto the \Kingpin\WolffloW\Help folder for the new help files.

1) WolffloW
   --------

1.1) What it is...

Best described as an explosives freaks' wet dream with major gibs.  Well, that didn't tell you squat.  Ok, the weapons have had modifications done to them.  Three levels worth, Big deal....

1.2) The deal...

Ever play some frag happy pud with a ping in the 50's.  Well, it won't help them here.  This mod has evoled over the last 7 months into a strategic battle (yeah right, with this Carmack engine, I think not).  It's a change of pace at least. Penalties vs. rewards. EVERY WEAPON HAS A COUNTER WEAPON.

1.3) 'Da Weapons...

Rocket Launcher has been slightly modified.  Three different ordinance loads. 1x, 2x or 3x.  Yes, That is 1 rocket, 2 rockets (variable speed), or 3 rockets (random-variable speed)[Modified speed-Truz].  Damage multipliers are different for EACH individual rocket.  Learn how to use it or die by your own hand (and PAY the price). Rockets are either Homing or Standard. lol

Grenade Launcher also comes in 3 varieties. <-woudn't you think I could use spell check.  Quick and dirty, Proximity grenades (or mines, if you back up just as throw), Cluster shells and some Frankenstein monster that I'm scared to tell anyone about <-strategic NIGHTMARE on kpdmrfc.

Flamer - I know...some of you hate it, but I think I struck a good balance.  You can now see through the flames when you are getting baked...but you also die really fast...but it is a gas guzzler.  lol. (Hint: the flamer can also divert and detonate homing missle = -2 to person shooting when they suicide). Now has dual setting, Long, short.  Just added - Fire Balls - amused myself..

Silenced pistol - You start with it, loaded, with a damage of 40.  Never defenceless.

Shotty - A personal favorite of mine.  When you need to sneak around a map avoiding mines load-up the shotgun.  It can blow a person across a map, or through a wall, or into space, etc.  Now has three ordinances. Single, double barrel and Quad-omfg-did-u-c-that.

Machine Gun - Dead accurate (randomly).  I included a new routine which takes a random number to decide if it is equivalent to a sniper rifle accurancy...or a used condom.  If you can't hit the side of a barn...fire it in bursts.  Then you will have a better chance of getting an accurate shot off, this was included to ease up the load on the server.  Added two new ordinances, 60mm cannon with tracer round every third shot and Armor Piercing rounds<-Nasty


HMG - Standard, Pie-hole and the all-new vortex with a twist.

If you don't see the custom models, or hear sounds, GET THE PAK FILE!  

1.4) Death...

Standard stuff.  Most frags win.  But you lose two frags for a suicide or absolute stupidity.  The point swing can be enormous if some dip thinks he is going to three rocket everyone to a victory.  Three rocket suicide = -3 frags, etc.  


1.5) The Hook...

Anyone who has played me knows I am a Happy Hooker.  Its just life.  Deal with it.  My PAK file has the hook in it...if you are lazy, just copy the pak file from hitmen.

1.6) Custom Pak file...

This is a server side mod.  However, there is a custom pak file available with sounds (homing, anti-camper countdown), etc.  If you find the Console offensive (which some will<-NO LONGER AN ISSUE..I REMOVED THE PORN AND REPLACED WITH PASSIVE WOLF.  If you would like the mature version email me at the address above).  You can also use the Hitmen pak file in its place.  There is a new pak file in addition to pak5.pak.  It is called pak6.pak and it contains some warfare music.  Its a 5 MB download...so do as you please.

1.7) Added logging stats!!!!!(Truz)

2) Installing the Mod...For a Server:::::

Easy.  Unzip the contents of the zip file to a folder under kingpin called WolffloW. i.e.
  x:\...\Kingpin\Wolfflow   easy 'nough right.

bare minimums for a server will be:

gamex86.dll
server.bat <-1 included but you can use almost any of the standard ones.
Pak5.pak <- Or you can use the 1 from Hitmen or any others with the hook. (But you won't have sounds/models)
maps.lst <- You can make your own...etc.
binds.cfg <- Very important, it can be called anything you want but you SHOULD bind the commands below
wolfflow.ini <- It has the server default states and add-ons.  This is nearly identical to Papa's and reactives COMP Mod, thanks also go to Mike "the artful dodger" Fox for NIQ code from Quake II.

WolffloW.bat <- simple batch file to start the mod.  It can be edited to be dedicated or local only.  Move this file to your root Kingpin directory..i.e.  x:\...\Kingpin.  I say this because anyone running NT knows the woes of trying to do a silly cd.. in a batch file.

3) Commands....

rocket_type <-NEW - Cycles between all rocket modes

 2 rockets, default is homing.
 3 rockets, default is homing.
homing 1 or homing 0, turns homing on or off.  Default is on.  (Hint: it is useful to turn it off once in a while.  sneak attack...then turn it on when close to target.)

grenade_type <- NEW - Cycles between all grenade modes

cluster - Cluster bomb shells - play with these to figure out the speed and pattern first.
quake - Causes an earthquake within a given radius.  Does no damage, only distracts.

shotty_type <- NEW - Cycles three shotguns

tommy_type <- NEW Cycles three tommyguns

flamer_type <-NEW allows for an adjustable flame thrower. lol.

hmg_type <- NEW Now works.

I personally bind my hook in this file so I only load 1 cfg file as I enter the server.

 Speaking of which..

It is now very network friendly.  One choice that I have made...The scoreboard must be called if you want to see it except after a map.  Press F1 or whatever your bind is to see your rank.  This is because in the last few builds the scoreboard lagged anyway (i moved cycles/work off the server).  The score/frags at the top right is dead accurate.  People have been saying that they did not get credit for a frag, well 2 things: 1: they did get credit but the scoreboard won't update for 2.1 secs.  Now whem you call the scoreboard...IT IS UP-TO-DATE.  2:  Peeps were abusing the Pie-Hole, so until the distance based damage and ammo count was worked out...you did not get afrag for using it.  The enemy did lose a frag, so in essence you gained a position (warped thinking I know).  It is now fixed to the way it should be.

For server admins: check the sample server.cfg file, you can now set how much ammo is required to fire a given weapon.  I personally would suggest that you use the defaults, lol.  It took alot of testing by alot of peeps to come up with the balance.

Anti-spawn camping is now incorporated.

If you press inventory key you will now get a listing of downloaders.  Map-voting, Technically : match set-up  If you are interested a Bot versions will be available by the time you read this (probably)<-Haven't heard much people.  Do you want one or not????.
